‘Smash our faces In’ Really..?

waffle central

Given the previous message praising our Door Team & the high volume of messages like that which we get, it’s always a little odd to get one like this…

But every complaint is dealt with on it’s own merits. It’s just that some of them don’t have any.

There is so much waffle in this nonsense that we have added in one or two Editor’s notes, to bring some sanity to the proceedings.

The moral of this story is – if you are coming to a ticketed event at the Club, get a ticket. That one small act, can stop you from having to make a sly little weasel of yourself…

It’s quite common place for people to send us waffle. They do it because they know we are basically a reasonable crew & they think that gives them an in, which it may, assuming they are reasonable too.

At times though – they are not & whack in a few lies to up the anti, throw in a couple of victim cards, a dribble of violent threat & a heartfelt snippet of total personal humiliation…

Thus, we suspect that the complainant below, may well have travelled to the Club on the evening in question in this rather attractive, little recreational vehicle…

Can we tell you a story..?

Original Message – From: Millicent – To: WHQ – Subject: SoulJam Staff 27/01/16

Hello, Me and a group of friends attended Soul Jam on the 27th January 2016.

After a large group of us paid for admission at the same time, one of your staff did not manage to give me a stamp. I understand it was busy, however I was not aware I needed a stamp since it was my first visit to your event.

(Editor’s note: Take your pick….)

Due to my friend feeling unwell and me assisting her outside for fresh air, your doorman proceeded to not let me back into the venue, despite them witnessing me leaving a matter of a few minutes prior.

They remained stubborn that I was not allowed back in,  despite me willing to pay entrance fee AGAIN and my friends showing them evidence I had already been in via photos that had already been taken on the night.

This then resulted in a lot of abuse from the doorman trying to assert unnecessary authority; one comment being that he would “smash our faces in if we did not leave the doorway”.

This was despite us not making a scene and simply waiting for taxis out of the wind.

(Reader’s voice: What on earth is this..?) (Editor’s Note: Ask your Mum…)

They then proceeded to mock me and my friends by giving people leaving the venue stamps if they did not have one and also saying they could do want they want due to them being bouncers and us having no authority.

I am deeply upset and humiliated at the way I have been treated; resulting in me and my friends reluctance to return to your venue.

I hope your CCTV is reviewed to prove my payment and expect to receive a full refund of the £5 due to my lack of presence in your venue and also the disgusting treatment of your staff.

I also expect you to review the workers you have regarding trust in the company given the clear robbery that has taken place tonight due to me paying entry fee and there being no evidence of this.

(That’s WHQ… A-peeping round your door)

I realise this is not your personal fault however this must be taken further to prevent it from happening again.

Thanks in advance,  Millicent

bit of A premature thank you…

Hi Millicent,

Don’t thank us yet…

What you ‘expect’ is irrelevant until we have looked into the issue & discussed it with everyone involved.

There are usually at least two sides to any issue.

We shall come back to you once we have had a chance to do that.

Best wishes, WHQ x.

Okay, Now can we tell you a different story..?

Thanks for looking into the issue.

My friend finished the email for me earlier and after looking back I have noticed she said the bouncer said something about “smashing my face in”.

I’m not sure why she added that. However, they did treat me unfairly and I still stand by everything else I said. Sorry if that caused any confusion

Hi Millicent,

We’ve now had a chance to speak to everyone involved…

truth-piss-off

On entry to the Club all customers are given a stamp on their arm.

You say you didn’t get one, which is strange as everyone else that night, including all your friends, did.

The staff member on the till also did not recognise you as someone she had seen or served that night.

None of the door supervisors recognised you as someone who had been in that night either. If anyone had, you’d have been straight back in.

Despite the false picture you have attempted to paint, our staff do not behave in the way you describe.

According to all of the staff, the tone of the exchange between you was nothing like what you describe in your e mail. At no time did the situation get heated or descend into the type of exchange you describe.

They recall you as being understandably frustrated at not being allowed entry (assuming you having paid in was true), but without a stamp & with not one staff member able to remember you, there was no evidence of you having paid to get in.

They are not suggesting that you behaved badly in any way, so it’s a great shame you have chosen to exaggerate your account of the situation to the extent that you have in your  e mail.

By padding out your initial e mail with blatant lies from your friend etc, the language used & the fact that you didn’t even write it, you haven’t done yourself any favours & have greatly undermined your credibility.

Stating our staff said they would ‘smash our faces in if we did not leave the doorway…’ When we all know that is not true is hardly going to endear us to you, despite you then withdrawing the statement.

What do you think that says to us about the rest of what was supposedly written by you..?

You say your friend finished the email for you…? So are we to assume she wrote the majority of it, like all this bit beyond her ‘face smashing’ invention..?

‘This then resulted in a lot of abuse from the doorman trying to assert unnecessary authority; one comment being that he would “smash our faces in if we did not leave the doorway”. This was despite us not making a scene and simply waiting for taxis out of the wind. The photo element of what you say is irrelevant, as the Door staff correctly, did not look at any photos as they could have been taken anytime. We give stamps on entry & you should have had one.

(Muhammad had loads, inc this cute little one – from Togo…)

It is of course possible that you were in the Club & were not stamped. Anything is possible.

But that does not justify getting your pals together, cobbling up some fiction & lying about Door staff (who have families to support) accusing them of aggressive & unacceptable conduct they did not partake in, which could affect their employment.

Sometimes mistakes get made, sometimes people try it on, that is inevitable in the situation we trade in. But as an independently owned business, we are at liberty to take whatever line we see fit around any complaint, issue or misunderstanding, based on it’s merits.

Having looked at your complaint & especially the tone of it, due the fact you didn’t even write it & it contained serious false accusations, we don’t find your complaint to be credible.

Had you not lied, we may well have seen it differently, as we want all our customers to be happy. But you did lie & we are not the kind of place that responds positively to that type of exaggerated waffle, especially when it attempts to falsely get out staff reprimanded.

We feel that what is actually ‘disgusting’ here, is the way you have tried to amplify & falsely report what happened just because you couldn’t get your own way.

If you did pay in & this was a simple misunderstanding, we want you to know that here at WHQ we think you have handled the situation with regard to bringing it to our attention, terribly.

Please don’t make the mistake of thinking we are a culture where the customer is always right… If the customer lies in an attempt to get honest people to lose their jobs (over a fiver… Really..!!?) they have no place here.

Best wishes, WHQ x.

We never got a reply from  this young lady. That truth be hurting her… What a rubbish look to get her chum to chip in with her & concoct nonsense like that!

Silly people who think they can make up lies & falsely manipulate situations because they believe they are blessed with some kinda god-given superiority are sadly funny really.

But they can also be dangerous too, as they don’t all just lie in an attempt to get into a sold out event. Some people tell massive porkies & get away with it – if you don’t call them out for stupidity & nip them in the bud…

That’s what needs to be done with this little chap. His name is Coco…

The way you complain at times when you may have to, is important & the way you speak or write, when making any communication is often a large part of the way people will perceive you.

Let’s just reiterate the moral of this story – If you are coming to a ticketed event at the Club, get a ticket.

Then if you get there, your friends are inside & it is sold out, you won’t have to try & pull hustles when you are all half cut & get knocked back…

Only to roll home with your ego so badly bruised, that you try a stunt like that daft malarky…

If you & your chums have no integrity, we hope that works out & is lovely for you…

But please don’t think that will get you into one of our sold out shows, as we honestly can’t be chewed with your waffle…
