Hi there promoters, we offer the cheapest hire rates in the city & it’s always worth having a face to face chit chat with us to see what can be worked out for your event.
Nowhere else in Newcastle comes within a million miles of the success rate, or number of independent Club nights WHQ hosts. There is a reason for that…
We built our own Club up from nothing (see History & Culture section above..) & the experience we can bring to your ideas, means you can do so too, by working here with us.
We deal in Underground Clubnights, so if you are a promoter & you want to get all Geordie Shore & simply offer cheap drink & gimmick led shite, where skimpily clad Reenies pour shots down the necks of people (stupid enough to fall for your vip guestlist, brand & rebrand waffle), you are in the wrong place…
We are music led & you’ll only embarass yourself if you meet with us.

Alongside all our mad weekend capers, we make the Club available for people to hire to promote their own midweek events. It is also possible to hire downstairs on a Friday & Saturday night. We have a great facility here & no Dj or promoter coming up now, has to go through the hard knocks pantomime & door rip offs, we often had to endure as we were kids cutting our teeth…
We have recently upgraded our downstairs room, bringing it more into line with the clubbiness of our upstairs, removing the big window & soundproofing it, for when all the massive Reggae soundsystems come to visit us. We’ve added loads more couches too, so it’s really nice & intimate. You’ll love it.
Experience taught us to play everybody straight, that is exactly what we do & people promote here because of that. Anything from the littlest private party, to the biggest two floor A-list event is possible, so scroll down for a bit of a read & then get in touch today.

We make it easy…
Even if you have never run Clubnights before WHQ is the one place you can really make it work. We can help & advise with all aspects of promo from making flyers, to tips & help with distribution. Our aim is to help to ensure that you make money, not lose it. We haven’t forgotten that we (& all our regular established independently promoted clubnights) started out with zero experience too, so many of the questions & problems you’ll face getting your act nice & tight, we have the answers to already.
We’ll make you an event page on this site & we can make you an admin of our facebook page, so you can update people who come to the Club regularly about your event. We’ll also display your posters/flyers in the run up to your show, let you use our flyer passes & rest assured, whatever we can do to help you succeed, we’ll do for ya.
We cater for live gigs, Dj shows, fundraisers, birthdays, course parties, theatre events, spoken word type stuff & probably anything else your crazy mind can come up with. We have projectors on both floors for visuals and fantastic sound throughout. All kinds of independent promoters, societies, Djs & general party people put top stuff on in WHQ.
We have the latest license in the city & are licensed every day for dancing & serving alcohol until 5am. One or both floors are available for you to hire, anytime, Sunday to Thursday every week. We can also do Friday & Saturday nights for early evening parties, gigs, whatever & hire the downstairs for later, Friday & Saturday Club events. The upstairs capacity is 320 & the downstairs capacity is 292, making the overall venue capacity 612. Both floors are well laid out & fab places to stage any sort of raucous, high quality musical antics.
This means midweek there’s always a wide variety of interesting & exciting independently promoted clubnights, parties, live bands & fundraisers going on. Ranging from fashion shows, live gigs, regular clubnights & events for people with learning & physical disabilities, to clubnights featuring A-list Dj sets from cutting edge genres & a whole lot more.
All kinds of crazy stuff goes down here & when you think about it… Your idea, plus our size & atmosphere - could very well be a total winner…
How it stacks up…
We charge peanuts and we run the bar and all the staffing. It’s your show, so what you charge on the door is your business, all we require are the aforementioned peanuts and that your people are cool. You can bring your own DJs or you can have ours, couldn’t be simpler. In terms of live antics, we’ve got the venue if you’ve got the band.
Our downstairs room has excellent sightlines, a big well staffed & stocked bar, a nice flat load in & is a great venue to play in, or to see any band smash it live.
Putting on events & Clubnights is always great fun & when you get it right it’s financially rewarding too. Your best chance of winning in this game is to work with us. We have super friendly door staff & a lifetime of experience in making all kinds of diverse events succeed, so you really can have totally hassle & charver free, great parties here & make yourself some loot, or further your charitable cause.
We’re at the opposite end of the credibility scale to Newcastle’s ‘orange geordie’ gubbins. We are the World Headquarters, we are always there. Check out our pedigree in the History & Culture section & you’ll see we are a proper underground Club, where loads of independent, strong & long lasting Clubnights have grown from over the last 19 years.
