Fairsquared website
Fairsquared are a group of people we met recently…
We were so impressed with what they are all about & we have decided to link up with them, to help raise awareness of all the important, worthwhile & far out stuff they are doing to make the World a better & fairer place.
This page has all the info about what they get up to & you can click through directly to their website too.
Here is what they have to say about themselves…
Based in the stunning city of Newcastle we are an Ethical enterprise that belief passionately in people and our planet.
Free from the corporate world the stifles creativity and focuses on profit, we decided to do something different.
Fair squared are campaigning to raise awareness in all aspects of fighting poverty at home and abroad, in the process ensuring that our environment is not exploited for personal gain or greed.

Our focus is fighting poverty at home and abroad and making people aware of some of the abysmal practices that take place to make money out of cheap products.
The Wall of Fame and Wall of Shame is being developed to raise awareness of these practices with naming and shaming some of the corporates – are you aware that Proctor and Gamble still test on animals.

Most of the large corporates will tell you that they have CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) policies in place and they have signed up to this initiative or that one , they even have set up their own award, Business in the Community .The 2010 winner was Unilever – check out our wall of fame to see why this is a laughing stock, by the way those of you that have enjoyed swimming in the Gulf of Mexico recently will be delighted to know that BP were highly commended in the 2010 awards for their continued contribution to sustainability – they were runners up in 2009.

We have set up the website to try and encourage you to get writing about the issues of the day and encourage some campaigning, lobbying and all round ranting. If you have something to say either via a blog or a forum post and would like to contribute stories or photographs-feel free.
Our products are all carefully sourced, ensuring that the maximum benefit goes back to the producers and that all of our products are natural, organic and fairly traded.

If you want a fiery curry from a women’s workers co-operative in Swaziland to the most ethical condoms in the UK we have them for you, and we have aimed at pricing products below or equivalent to equivalent brands unlike the supermarkets who seem to whack a huge premium on anything ethical - we believe ethical shopping should be in everyone’s reach not a luxury.

We only trade in the poorest regions of the world, where the smallest effort makes a huge impact.

We will be handing out samples over the next few weeks at World Headquarters and your feedback on the site, products, ethos or anything else will be warmly received.

Finally a thank you to World Headquarters for selecting Action Aid as our campaign product fundraising partner – we are donating all the margin from sales of our Olive High top Ethletic Trainers not the token 5p a pack you will normally find.

Here at WHQ we really like these guys & we are very pleased to be able to get involved with them. So should you, so check out their website today…
